Seventeen Zips Garner Academic All-MAC Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Accolades

2018 ACADEMIC ALL-MAC WOMEN'S OUTDOOR TRACK RELEASE

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The University of Akron women's track and field squad earned 17 selections when the Mid-American Conference released its 2018 Women's Outdoor Track and Field Academic All-MAC team on Wednesday, May 30.

In all, a total of 169 student-athletes were named to the women's team including; seniors Patricia Ortega (Logrono, Spain), Ariadna Ramos Gandia (Barcelona, Spain), Jackie Siefring (Covington, Ohio) and Tara Snipes (Covington, Ohio), redshirt juniors Mackenzie Andrews (Toowoomba, Australia), Elizabeth Mosier (Austintown, Ohio) and Rebecca Pietsch (Dusseldorf, Germany), juniors Lucy Bryan (Bristol, England), Dara Perry (Akron, Ohio) and Olivia Snyder (Navarre, Ohio), sophomores Iman Batiste (Dublin, Ohio), Haley Hess (Curtice, Ohio), Bailey Lack (Brunswick) and Victoria Stachowski (Waterford, Mich.) and redshirt freshmen Abby Helminiak (Toledo, Ohio), Vanessa Rivera (Seville, Ohio) and Emily Taylor (Mount Perry, Ohio).

To qualify for the Academic All-MAC Teams, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests scheduled or completed in the particular sport.
