AKRON, Ohio -- In their lone exhibition contest of the 2018-19 preseason, the Akron women's basketball team took down Rochester College, 86-45, on Thursday night at James A. Rhodes Arena.

Four Zips registered double-digit efforts in the contest as juniors Shaunay Edmonds (Pittsburgh, Pa.), Alysa Clay (Indianapolis, Ind.), Caitlin Vari (Richfield, Ohio), and redshirt senior Megan Sefcik (Austintown, Ohio) paced the scoring on offense. Freshman Kendall Miller (Akron, Ohio) led the squad in assists and junior forward Haliegh Reinoehl (Westfield, Ind.) pulled in a team-high in rebounds.

The 2018-19 regular season tips off on Tuesday, Nov. 13, as the Akron women's basketball team opens its campaign with a four-game road trip. The season opens in Greensboro, N.C., for the Zips as Akron takes on North Carolina A&T at 7 p.m.
