Noblesville, Ind. – The University of Akron women's golf team fired rounds of 298 and 296 en route to a 594 (+18) 36-hole score and third-place tie at the Fall MAC Preview on Sunday.

Toledo leads the 12-team field at 2-under par 288-286 – 574 (-2) while Xavier ranks second with a 575 (-1) tally at the Par 72, 6,125-yard Purgatory Golf Club. Host Central Michigan is deadlocked at third place with the Zips as senior Danielle Nicholson (Geneva, Ohio) and junior Allyson Wentworth (Stewartsville, N.J.) lead Akron's scoring efforts.

Both, Nicholson and Wentworth carded 147 (+3) scores to be ranked in the Top 13 on the player leaderboard. Nicholson fired rounds of 74 (+2) and 73 (+1) scores while Wentworth used a 75 (+3) and even-par performance.

Landing tied at 21^st overall and following in scoring for the Zips were senior Makayla Dull (Fremont, Ohio) and sophomore Abbie Pearce (Green, Ohio). Dull and Pearce each recorded 150 (+6) two-round totals. Dull opened the tournament with an even-par score and registered a 78 (+6) follow-up round while Pearce shot 77 (+5) and 73 (+1) scores.

Rounding out Akron's scoring was freshman Ivana Shah (Mumbai, India) with a 160 (+16) ledger.

Final round action is slated to begin at 9:30 a.m. with a shotgun start as Akron will play with the two leading squads for the final 18-holes. Nicholson and Wentworth are scheduled to start on the first tee followed by Dull, Pearce and Shah on holes two, three and four, respectively.
