CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Mid-American Conference unveiled its weekly MAC Track and Field Athletes of the Week recipients on Tuesday, Jan. 17, and University of Akron standouts senior Miles Baldwin (Cincinnati, Ohio) and freshman Lucy Bryan (Bristol, England) were honored.
Baldwin garnered MAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week accolades on the strength of finishing third and 10th, respectively, in the 400 meters (47.94) and 200 meters (22.01) for the Zips at the Kentucky Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 14. His time in the 400 meters is the 27th-best mark in the NCAA in 2017.
He also joined with senior Mike Ohiembor (Dayton, Ohio), redshirt junior Taron Slone (Columbus, Ohio) and senior Miles Baldwin (Cincinnati, Ohio) to post the winning time (3:13.20) in the 4x400 relay at the Kentucky Invitational.
Bryan was honored as the MAC Women's Field Athlete of the Week after capturing top honors in the women's pole vault at the Kentucky Invitational eclipsing 13-5.25 (4.10m). Her effort represented the ninth-best jump nationally in the NCAA in 2017.
