Zips Conclude Efforts at USATF Junior Outdoor Championships

USATF JUNIOR TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS
CLOVIS, Calif. - The University of Akron track and field team was well represented at the USATF (USA Track and Field) Junior Outdoor Championships this past weekend with four Zips competing for berths on the United States' squad at the IAAF Junior World Championships.
Freshman Ian Behm (Volant, Pa.) led the Zips' efforts placing third in the men's javelin on Friday, June 24, with a mark of 205-4 (62.60m).
Fellow freshman Abigale Wilson (Carrollton, Ohio) finished eighth in the women's discus on Friday, June 24, with a throw of 162-6 (49.53m). The mark fell just shy of surpassing her career-best throw of 162-8 at the Mid-American Conference Championships on May 14.
Freshman Dara Perry (Akron, Ohio) turned in a time of 14.28 to place 14th in the 100-meter hurdles on Saturday, June 25.
Freshman Cody Stine (Shelby, Ohio) rounded out the competition for Akron on Sunday, June 26, jumping 6-9.75 (2.08m) in the men's high jump finishing tied for 11th place.

Discus: Abigale Wilson (8th-162-6/49.53m); 100-Meter Hurdles: Dara Perry (14th-14.28)
MEN'S RESULTS:
Javelin: Ian Behm (3rd-205-4/62.60m); High Jump: Cody Stine (11th-6-9.75/2.08m)
