Awendaw, S.C. – The Akron Zips men's golf team fired a 294 (+6) final round team score, finishing 14^th overall with an 890 (+26) 54-hole total at Bulls Bay Golf Club. Akron added rounds of 296 (+8) and 300 (+12).

South Carolina held on to claim the team title with an 841 (-23) tournament total while Charleston and Auburn followed with 856 (-8) and 861 (-3) for second and third, respectively.

SC's Keenan Huskey earned medalist honors by firing a final round 69 (-3) to complete an 11-under par 205 three-round score while Charleston's William Rainey finished runner-up with a 211 (-5) total.

Elliott Grayson (Shelby, N.C.) and sophomore George Baylis (Ascot, England) led the Zips through the final round with a pair of 1-over par 73 performances. Grayson recorded 10 pars, three birdies, two bogeys, two double-bogeys, and an eagle while Baylis fired 13 pars, three bogeys, and two birdies.

Junior J.B. Williams (Danville, Ky.) and senior Ryan Harris (Carlisle, Mass.) followed with a pair of 74 (+2) final round scores while senior Louis Birchall (Ingestre Park, England) rounded out the Zips' scoring with a 78 (+6) tally.

Grayson finished the 54-hole event as Akron's leading scorer, carding rounds of 73 (+1), 75 (+3), and 73 (+1) for a 221 (+5) effort and tied for 41^st place. He completed the event with 37 pars, seven bogeys, six birdies, three double-bogeys, and an eagle.

Junior J.B. Williams (Danville, Ky.) finished second in team scoring over the three-day event. He used 39 pars, eight bogeys, five birdies, and two double-bogeys for a 46^th place finish with a 223 (+7) tournament total. He recorded rounds of 78 (+6), 71 (-1), and 74 (+2).

Baylis was third in scoring with 35 pars, 10 bogeys, seven birdies, a double-bogey and a triple-bogey. He used rounds of 76 (+4), 75 (+3), and 73 (+1) for a 51^st-best 224 (+8) finish.

Birchall and Harris completed the Zips' scoring efforts 228 (+12) and 231 (+15) totals. Birchall finished 61^st overall with rounds of 71 (-1), 79 (+7), and 78 (+6) while Harris was 69^th on rounds of 76 (+4), 81 (+9), and 74 (+2).

The Zips will be back in action on Friday-Sunday, April 8-10, in Kannapolis, N.C. at the Cabarrus County Irish Creek Collegiate. The 54-hole event will be played at The Club at Irish Creek, a par 71 course that spans 7,099 yards.
