Football's Alumni Weekend Set for April 15-16

AKRON, Ohio — All Zips' Football alumni are invited to return to campus for the 2016 Football Alumni Weekend on April 15-16, to reconnect with teammates and the football staff.
Festivities begin on Friday, April 15, with an alumni gathering at the home of Dan Basch (2000-04) at 6 p.m.
On Saturday, April 16, the day gets started for alums with a pre-game breakfast with the current team at 9 a.m. on the 7th floor of InfoCision Stadium. An alumni reception will follow at 10:30 a.m. on the 5th floor.
The Zips' annual Spring Game kicks off at 1 p.m. at InfoCision Stadium– Summa Field. Admission to the game and parking are FREE. The stadium gates open at Noon.
Following the game, alumni are invite to a private tailgate with the football staff in Stile Athletics Field House at 3:30 p.m.
The price for the alumni events is $25 per person ($10.00 for children 12 and under) before April 8. After April 8, the price is $50 per person.

Akron, under the guidance of fifth-year head coach Terry Bowden, returns 48 letterwinners, including seven starters, to its spread offense and 4-3 defense. The Zips, which finished the 2015 season at 8-5 overall with a 23-21 win over Utah State in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl, open the 2016 season at home with VMI on Sept. 3.
Season ticket plans—which include a ticket to all six home games as well as a parking pass— start at only $60 each and are now available for purchase by calling 1-888-99-AKRON (25766) or visiting The C.P. and Cornelia S. Chima Athletics Ticket Office at InfoCision Stadium - Summa Field (located at 375 E. Exchange Street, near Gate 1 at the southwest corner of the venue, at the corner of E. Exchange and S. Union streets) during business hours (Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
Group tickets start at $10 each (with a minimum of 15 people).
