Greenville, S.C. – The Akron Zips men's golf team fired the program's second-best 18-hole score to move into third place at the Furman Intercollegiate. All five players in the Zips' lineup shot par or better en route to a 12-under 276 round.

The Zips 36-hole total, 566 (-10), is the third-best mark in program history and ranks third for the tournament. Georgia State leads with 560 (-16) and Harvard is second at 564 (-12) heading into the final round at the Furman University Golf Course.

Freshman Elliott Grayson (Shelby, N.C.) led the Zips' scoring with a career-best 5-under par 67, carding 10 pars, five birdies, two bogeys and an eagle. Grayson moved 58 spots up the leaderboard and is currently tied for 27^th overall with teammate junior J.B. Williams (Danville, Ky.). Williams also gained some ground on the leaderboard, climbing 42 spots after posting the team's second-best score of the day, a 4-under 68 effort. Grayson and Williams are even with a 144 total strokes after two-rounds.

Senior Ryan Harris (Carlisle, Mass.) and sophomore George Baylis (Ascot, England) continued their under-par scoring ways. Harris registered a 2-under par 70 performance while Baylis recorded a 1-under par 71 effort. Both, Harris and Baylis, are tied for seventh overall with 139 (-5) 36hole totals.

Rounding out the Zips' scoring was senior Louis Birchall (Ingestre Park, England). Birchall finished Saturday's round even-par with 72 strokes, moving up 24 spots on the leaderboard to finish 79^th overall with a 151 (+7) tournament total.

Sunday's final round will be a shotgun start, beginning at 10 a.m. ET. The Zips are schedule to tee off from holes 1-3. Fans can follow the action via GolfStat Live Scoring.
