Men's Golf Concludes 2015 MAC Championship in Ninth Place

CHARDON, Ohio – The Akron men's golf team concluded the 2015 Mid-American Conference Championship in ninth place on Sunday at the par-72, 7,245-yard Mayfield Sand Ridge Club – Sand Ridge Campus.
The Zips closed the final day with a round of 295 (+7) to end the championship event with a 72-hole tally of 1,201 (+49). Miami (Ohio) led wire-to-wire to win this year's MAC Championship with a four-round score of 1,160 (+8).
Yann Pfeiffer closed out his first MAC Championship event with a 1-under 71 on Sunday to finish alone in 18th place with a four-round total of 296 (+8).
George Baylis ended the day with a score of 2-over 74 to finish with a total score of 299 (+11). He finished play in a tie for 23rd place.
Louis Birchall, who carded three-straight rounds of 76 to open the weekend, closed out the championship with a 2-over 74 on Sunday. He finished in 30th place with a final tally of 302 (+14).
Ryan Harris carded a final-round 76 (+4) to finish in 35th place (307, +19) while J.B. Williams rounded out the scoring-five in 40th place (313, +25). Williams posted a round of 79 (+7) on Sunday.
Kent State, who finished fifth at the event, earned a point in the PNC Wagon Wheel Challenge. The Golden Flashes now hold a 6.5-5.5 lead with three sports remaining.
The MAC Championship concludes the 2014-15 season for the Zips.
