OPELIKA, Ala. – The Akron men's golf team saw an 11-shot improvement on Monday, led by Ryan Harris' round of even-par 72, to close day two of the 2015 Tiger Invitational Presented by Jason Dufner in 16th place.
Harris climbed 11 spots in the standings and is tied for 29th place entering Tuesday's final round with a two-day score of 148 (+4).
The Zips posted a round of 12-over 300 and closed the day with a 36-hole tally of 611 (+35). Fourteenth-ranked Auburn leads the field by 10 shots with a total score of 563 (-13).
Yann Pfeiffer saw a one-shot improvement from his first round, carding a 3-over 75 to end round two in a tie for 45th place (151, +7).
Louis Birchall climbed 15 spots in the standings thanks to his round of 76 (+4). He is tied for 65th place with 18 holes to play (155, +11). George Baylis remained in a tie for 74th place with score of 157 (+13) after posting a round of 77 (+5).
Zach Gollwitzer rounded out the squad in a tie for 84th place, posting a second-round score of 78 (+6) to end the day with a two-day tally of 163 (+19).
Play will conclude on Tuesday with tee times for the final round set to begin at 8:45 a.m. ET from the first and tenth tees. Fans can follow all three rounds via GolfStat Live Scoring.
