AKRON, Ohio— The University of Akron women's tennis team heads to the City of Brotherly Love for a weekend match with Temple.
On Saturday, March 7, the Zips (7-5 overall, 0-0 MAC) take on the Owls (9-3 overall, 0-1 American) in a 6 p.m. match at the Upper Dublin Sports Center. Temple is scheduled to play three matches before hosting Akron.
Friday's match at Penn has been cancelled due to weather and travel concerns.
Last weekend at home, Akron dropped a 6-1 match to East Tennessee State on Saturday at the LaTuchie Tennis Center.
In doubles action, ETSU swept all three matches with identical 6-1 scores to claim the doubles point.
In singles action, Akron's sole win on the day came at No. 4 singles as freshman Ariadna Blinova (Riga, Latvia) defeated Jayde Viccars, 6-3, 6-3, handing her the first loss of the season
