GREENVILLE, S.C. – Yann Pfeiffer remained inside the top 20 as the Akron men's golf team dropped to 10th place on Saturday at the 46th Annual Furman Intercollegiate.
Pfeiffer posted a round of 1-over 73 and is tied for 20th place after 36 holes (145, +1). The Zips carded a score of 16-over 304 to finish the day with a two-round tally of 594 (+18).
Georgia State posted the low round of the tournament, firing an 8-under 280 to take a five-shot lead over the field (570, -6).
Ryan Harris finished the day in a tie for 45th place after carding a 5-over 77. He will open play on Sunday with a 36-hole score of 148 (+4). Louis Birchall is one shot behind Harris in a tie for 48th place with a score of 149 (+5). He carded a 4-over 76 on the day.
George Baylis concluded the day in a tie for 63rd place (152, +8) after his round of 78 (+6).
Zach Gollwitzer rounded out the scoring-five in a tie for 113th place (169, +25) after shooting a 16-over 88.
The Zips will conclude the event on Sunday, with the final round set for a 10:30 a.m. ET shotgun start. Fans can follow the action live via Golfstat Live Scoring.
