ZIONSVILLE, Ind. – Thunderstorms in the area forced play to be suspended as teams were playing the second round on Saturday at the Wolf Run Intercollegiate on the par-71, 7,155-yard Wolf Run Golf Club.
Teams will finish the second round on Sunday, with play resuming at 9:30 a.m. ET, with the final round to follow immediately after the conclusion of the second round.
The Zips closed the first round in 14th place after posting a score of 309 (+25). Seventh-ranked Illinois led the field by 10 shots with a first-round 285 (+1).
Louis Birchall led the way for the Zips in round one, posting a 5-over 76 to finish the round in a tie for 35th place.
J.B. Williams was tied for 45th place after 18 holes, posting an opening-round 77 (+6) while Ryan Harris and Yann Pfeiffer were tied for 55th place. Harris and Pfeiffer posted rounds of 78 (+7). The round marked the first for Pfeiffer as a Zip.
George Baylis, playing in his first-collegiate event, carded an 8-over 79 and began round-two play in a tie for 65th place.
