KANNAPOLIS, N.C. – Charlie Bull's round of 3-under 68 moved him into a tie for second place as the Akron Zips closed the 2014 Irish Creek Collegiate in a tie for 12th place on Sunday.
Bull, who has been under par in six of his last seven rounds, finished with a 54-hole tally of 4-under 209. He ended the day four shots behind tournament-winner M.J. Maguire of North Florida (205, -8).
As a team, the Zips posted a round of 11-over 295 to finish play with a total score of 891 (+39) to finish tied with North Carolina. No. 47 Georgia State won the event by one stroke with a score of 7-over 859.
Zach Gollwitzer concluded the event in a tie for 41st place with a score of 11-over 224 after his final-round 80 (+9).
Louis Birchall rebounded from a tough second round, firing an even-par 71 on Sunday to finish tied for 58th place (226, +13).
Chandler Morgan posted a round of 10-over 81 to finish in 88th place (240, +27). Ryan Harris, who withdrew during the second round, carded a 5-over 76 on Sunday to finish in 89th place.
The Zips return to action on April 12 when they travel to Bloomington, Ind., for the NYX Hoosier Invitational.
