GREENVILLE, S.C. – Three players finished inside the top-20 to power the Akron Zips to a fourth-place finish on Sunday at the Furman Intercollegiate.
Charlie Bull, J.B. Williams and Louis Birchall ended play inside the top-20 as the Zips posted their best finish of the spring to date. Akron carded a final-round 296 (+8) to finish with a three-day score of 11-over 875. Georgia State and No. 10 Virginia Tech finished atop the leaderboard with scores of 9-under 855.
Bull extended his streak of rounds under par to four thanks to a 1-under 71 on Sunday. He finished in a tie for fourth place with a tally of 4-under 212.
Williams missed a top-10 finish by one stroke, closing the event in a tie for 11th place with a 1-over 217. He ended the day with a round of 2-over 74.
Birchall earned his first top-20 finish of the spring thanks to his round of 4-over 76. He finished tied for 18th place in a group at 4-over 220.
Ryan Harris carded his second-straight round of 3-over 75 to climb 13 spots into a tie for 59th place (227, +11).
Zach Gollwitzer rounded out the scoring-five in a tie for 77th place with a three-day tally of 230 (+14). He posted a 5-over 77 for round three.
The Zips won't have much time to rest as they return to action on April 5 when they head to Kannapolis, N.C., for the Irish Creek Intercollegiate.
