AIKEN, S.C. – The Akron Zips men's golf team concluded the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate in 16th place on Tuesday at the par-70, 6,695-yard Palmetto Golf Club.
The Zips ended the week with a three-round score of 912 (+72) after posting a final-round 316 (+36). No. 31 Clemson led wire-to-wire, winning the event with a score of 14-over 854.
J.B. Williams led the way for the Zips, finishing tied for 52nd place with a 54-hole tally of 227 (+17). He carded a round of 80 (+10) on Tuesday.
Charlie Bull carried over his momentum from the second round, posting a team-best 74 (+4) to finish in a tie for 63rd place (230, +20).
Ryan Harris and Louis Birchall ended the day in a tie for 67th with identical 54-hole scores of 231 (+21). Harris ended the day with an 84 (+14) while Birchall posted a 78 (+8).
For the second-straight round, Zach Gollwitzer was forced to withdraw due to illness.
The squad will return to action on March 23 when it returns to South Carolina for the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate.
