Dates Announced For Men's Soccer Summer Camps

AKRON, Ohio – Youth soccer players of all ages and ability levels will once again have the opportunity to develop their skills at the annual Akron Soccer Summer Camps in 2014.
Each session is specifically designed for different levels of play; from an elite athlete looking to play in college to a young player who is just learning the basics of the game. The Akron coaching staff and current players will personally provide instruction for each Day Camp with selected top college coaches joining them for the Residential Camps.
DATES
Day Camp I – June 9-13
Day Camp II – June 23-27
Residential Camp I – July 10-13
Residential Camp II – July 16-19
DAY CAMPS (Boys & Girls, ages 7-12)
Each Day Camp session focuses on skill development for young soccer players. Campers will learn soccer skills and techniques through exercises and games specifically designed for the young player. Campers are encouraged to learn and develop at their own pace under the careful guidance of the director and his expert staff. The emphasis is always on fun and learning. The cost of the Day Camp is $235.
The Little Stars section (boys & girls, ages 4-6) of camp is a great way to expose boys and girls to soccer in a fun and safe environment. Camp will run from 9-11 a.m. daily. The main objective is to introduce and teach basic soccer skills and concepts through exercises and games. The cost for a week of Little Stars camp is $120.
RESIDENTIAL CAMPS (Boys, ages 10-18)
At Residential Camp, the goal is to educate and challenge players of all levels while they discover what it means to be a part of the NCAA National Championship winning Akron environment! This camp offers technical and tactical sessions, delivered by our nationally recognized coaching staff to campers who will be placed into age and ability specific developmental groups.
The curriculum is designed to challenge each player through the combination of 11v11 and small-sided match play coupled with daily training sessions. Specialized goalkeeping sessions will also be held each week of camp. The cost is $595 for residential campers and $500 for commuters.

TRADITION
Akron soccer has a rich tradition, beginning with its inaugural season in 1955. Over the course of 59 years, the Zips have seen the program reach unthinkable heights, culminating with the school's first team national championship in any sport in 2010. In all, Akron has advanced to the NCAA Tournament 28 times – including each of the last seven seasons. UA captured its ninth straight Mid-American Conference regular-season title and secured its sixth MAC Tournament championship since 2007 in 2013.
