NASHPORT, Ohio – Charlie Bull used a round of 4-under 68 to move into second place as The University of Akron men's golf team remained in fourth place through 54 holes at the 2013 Mid-American Conference Championship at the par-72, 7,243-yard Longaberger Golf Club.
Bull's round of 68 was tied for the lowest of the championship event. He enters the final round with a two-day score of even-par 216. Kent State's Taylor Pendrith holds the 54-hole lead with a total score of 208 (-8).
As a team, the Zips tied for the second-lowest round of the day, firing a 7-over 295 and now has a three-round score of 902 (+38). UA is just six shots behind second-place Toledo (896, +32) as Kent State paces the field (878, +14).
Carr Vernon remained inside the top-10, firing a 1-over 73 to close play in a tie for sixth place (222, +6). Louis Birchall moved up one spot into a tie for 15th place thanks to his round of 74 (+2) and enters the final round with a total score of 227 (+11).
Ryan Harris is in 35th place (238, +22) after posting a round of 81 (+9) while Cameron Simmons rounded out the scoring-five in 41st place (247, +31) following a round of 80 (+8).
Sunday's final round will see threesomes teeing off from the first tee starting at 7:50 a.m. ET. Akron will open the round with tee times beginning at 8:40 a.m. The event is free to the public and fans can follow the scoring live via Golfstat Live Scoring.
