Charlie Bull Posts Top-15 Finish to Lead Men's Golf at Furman Intercollegiate

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Charlie Bull registered a top-15 finish as The University of Akron men's golf team closed the 44th Annual Furman Intercollegiate in 14th place on Sunday.
Bull fired a round of 1-under 71 to move up five spots on Sunday to finish tied for 15th place with a three-day tally of even-par 216. He ended the tournament tied for the best par-4 scoring average (3.93), finishing the weekend 2-under.
As a team, the Zips carded a round of 306 (+18) on Sunday to post a three-round score of 898 (+34). No. 51 Virginia Tech pulled away from the field to post a wire-to-wire win with a score of 843 (-21).
Carr Vernon finished tied for 42nd place with a three-round score of 224 (+8) after ending the day with a round of 79 (+7).
Cameron Simmons followed his second-round 73 (+1) with a final-round 76 (+4) to move into a tie for 51st place. He closed the event with a score of 226 (+10).
Ryan Harris' round of 9-over 81 dropped him into a tie for 92nd place with a score of 235 (+19) while Louis Birchall rounded out the scoring-five in 101st place (238, +22) after recording a round of 80 (+8).
The Zips return to Akron on April 6 when they travel to Charlotte, N.C., for the Irish Creek Intercollegiate.
