KENNESAW, Ga. – The University of Akron men's golf team concluded its fall schedule on Tuesday, posting a fourth-place finish at the 2013 Pinetree Intercollegiate on the par-72, 7,108-yard Pinetree Country Club.
The Zips posted a round of 20-over 308 to finish 12 shots off the pace with a three-round score of 20-over 884. Tournament-host Kennesaw State won the event for a second-consecutive year (872, +8).
Akron was paced by sophomore Ryan Harris, who finished in a tie for second place with a 54-hole score of 215 (-1). He closed play with a round of 7-over 79 on Tuesday.
Joining Harris in the top-25 was teammate Charlie Bull, who finished tied for sixth place (217, +1) following a round of 1-over 73.
Carr Vernon missed a top-25 finish by one stroke, closing play in a tie for 26th place (225, +9) after carding a 6-over 78.
J.B. Williams ended the event in a tie for 35th place with an overall score of 11-over 227. He posted a round of 6-over 78 during the final round.
Chandler Morgan rounded out the scoring-five in a tie for 55th place with a 54-hole tally of 238 (+22). He concluded the day with a 9-over 81.
The Zips return to action in the spring when they travel to Mobile, Ala., on February 17 for the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate.
