Men's Golf Tied for Sixth at Wolf Run Intercollegiate

ZIONSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Akron men's golf team, led by junior Charlie Bull and senior Cameron Simmons, sits tied for sixth place after 36 holes at the Wolf Run Intercollegiate.
Bull sits in a tie for fifth place with a two-round score of 2-under 140 thanks to rounds of 4-under 67 and 2-over 73. Simmons is tied for 22nd place (146, +4) after posting scores of 71 (E) and 75 (+4).
As a team, the Zips used rounds of 292 (+8) and 294 (+10) to finish tied with Kentucky with a total of 586 (+18). Ohio State leads the field with a 2-under 566.
Freshman Ryan Harris got off to a slow start, posting a score of 77 (+6) in the first round but rebounded to the tune of 72 (+1) to close the day in a group tied for 40th (149, +7). Fellow freshmen Louis Birchall and Carr Vernon are tied for 53rd and tied for 66th respectively.
Birchall posted scored of 78 (+7) and 74 (+3) for a total of 152 (+10) while Vernon carded rounds of 6-over 77 and 9-over 80 (157, +15).
The Zips will tee off from the first hole beginning at 8:30 a.m. ET.
