PNC Wagon Wheel Challenge
AKRON, Ohio – Saturday's "White Out" men's basketball game between Akron and Kent State at Rhodes Arena as part of the PNC Wagon Wheel Challenge is nearing a sell out. The contest between the neighborhood rivals is scheduled to tip off at 6 p.m. ET and will be televised regionally via SportsTime Ohio.
Zips fans are encouraged to wear white to the game to help "White Out" the Golden Flashes and the first 1,000 people through the turnstiles will get a free PNC Wagon Wheel Challenge white t-shirt, sponsored by PNC and Custom U.
Tickets can be purchased online anytime at GoZips.com/tickets, or from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET on Mondays through Fridays by either calling 1-888-99-AKRON (25766) or visiting The C.P. and Cornelia S. Chima Athletics Ticket Office at InfoCision Stadium - Summa Field (located at 375 E. Exchange Street, near Gate 1 at the southwest corner of the venue, at the corner of E. Exchange and S. Union streets).
The ticket office at Rhodes Arena will open at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
All UA men's basketball games are broadcast on the Akron-IMG Sports Network and carried locally on SportsRadio 1350 AM (WARF), with "Voice of the Zips" Steve French and Joe Dunn (analyst) handling the call. Pregame coverage begins 30 minutes prior to tipoff.
A free web cast and live statistics will also be available for Saturday's matchup through GoZips.com and MAC-Sports.com.
Akron, which enters the week with a 3-0 record in Mid-American Conference play and an 11-6 mark overall, travels to Buffalo (8-6, 1-2 MAC) on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. ET contest at UB's Alumni Arena.
