Men's Golf Readies for Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate

The University of Akron men's golf team ends its two-week break when it travels to Aiken, S.C., for the 14th Annual Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate March 7-8 at the historic Palmetto Golf Club.
The three-round event will feature two rounds on March 7, followed by the final round on March 8 at the par-70, 6,565-yard Palmetto Golf Club, which was founded in 1892 and is recognized as the fourth-oldest golf course in the U.S. This will be the fourth-consecutive trip for the Zips to Aiken for the event.
Akron will in a very competitive 18-team field, including eight teams ranked in the Golfweek Top 100, including: No. 3 Alabama, No. 49 Chattanooga, No. 41 Clemson, College of Charleston, No. 47 East Carolina, Elon, Francis Marion, Furman, Georgia Southern, Kentucky, No. 46 Liberty, No. 88 Maryland, Presbyterian, USC-Aiken (host), Wofford, No. 68 Vanderbilt and No. 18 Virginia. The Zips enter the tournament ranked 103rd out of 301 Division I programs.
Freshman Charlie Bull led the way for the Zips the last time out, posting the first top-10 finish of his career at the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate on Feb. 22. Bull finished tied for ninth place with a 3-over 219 to help the Zips to a third-place tie in the 14-team field.
