Three Swimmers Through to the Finals at MAC Championships

ATHENS, Ohio - Three University of Akron swimmers qualified out of the preliminaries in action at the Mid-American Conference Championships this morning at the Ohio University Aquatic Center.

A pair of Zips qualified for the consolation finals of the 200-yard backstroke. Kelsea Cross swam a career-best 2:01.38 to qualify ninth and Rebecca Zimmer swam a season-best 2:04.37 to record the 16^th-fastest time of the morning.

Catherine Carr qualified for the consolation finals of the 200-yard butterfly, swimming the third fastest time in the event in Akron history. Carr clocked in at 2:02.68.

The final session of the 2011 MAC Championships will begin tonight at 7:00 p.m. at Ohio University.
