Tennis Completes Day Two of FGCU Invitational

FORT MYERS, Fla. - The University of Akron tennis team will play for the title in Flight 2 doubles and Flight 2 singles on Monday at the Hilton Garden Inn Eagle Invitational. The three-day, 11-team event is being held at the Florida Gulf Coast University Tennis Complex.
The UA doubles team of sophomores Angelika Jogasuria and Prang Pantusart scored an 8-4 victory over Louisville's Amelia Harris and Stefanie Villajuan in Sunday's semifinal round of Flight 2, and will face Illinois' Chelcie Abajian and Breanne Smutko in Monday's title contest.
Sophomore Angelina Jogasuria, Angelika's identical twin, will represent the Zips in tomorrow's Flight 2 singles final after a 6-2, 2-6 (10-7) semifinal win over Purdue's Mara Schmidt today. Jogasuria will meet Abajian in the championship.
Also on Monday, Pantusart will compete in the Flight 4 singles consolation final, following a 6-0, 6-1 defeat over FGCU's Iris Rendon today.
In Flight 3 singles semifinal action, Angelika Jogasuria lost to Smutko 7‐5, 6‐2.
Monday's competition is scheduled to get underway at 8 a.m., starting with doubles play.
