Brown Receives MAC East Pitcher of the Week Accolade

AKRON, Ohio - Following a stellar performance on the hill this weekend, UA sophomore Andrew Brown has been named Mid-American Conference East Division Pitcher of the Week as announced today by the conference office.
Brown (Painesville, Ohio/Riverside HS) was spectacular in his 2010 debut against Big Ten powerhouse Minnesota, assisting the Zips in a 4-2 victory. The sophomore threw seven complete innings, allowing just one earned run while striking out a career-high-tying seven batters. Brown kept Golden Gophers batters off balance, scattering five hits and allowed just three walks in 26 batters faced.
Brown and the Zips return to action this week, traveling to Las Cruces, N.M. to take on New Mexico State Feb. 26-28.
