UA Swimming & Diving Set for Ocasek Natatorium Debut

AKRON, Ohio - The University of Akron swimming and diving team (0-2, 0-2 MAC) makes its Ocasek Natatorium debut this weekend, welcoming Ball State and Eastern Michigan to campus for a pair of Mid-American Conference meets.
Akron suffered a pair of setbacks on the road last week, falling to the Ohio Bobcats, 164-136 before dropping a 187-111 decision against defending MAC Champion, Miami (Ohio). Despite the losses, the program highlighted several bright spots over the weekend, including strong swims from the seniors as well as notable contributions from the freshman class.
The Zips will face Ball State on Friday, Nov. 6 at 5 p.m. The Cardinals enter the weekend with a 1-1 record (1-1 MAC). The Cardinals split their opening weekend, defeating Bowling Green, 153-141 before losing to Toledo, 155-143 at home.
Akron welcomes Eastern Michigan to Ocasek Natatorium Saturday, Nov. 7 at noon to close out competition. The Eagles are 2-1 overall and 1-1 in the MAC. Eastern Michigan upended Bowling Green, 154-119 before losing to Toledo, 82.5-41.5 in the conference-opening weekend.
