Rain or Shine, Baseball to Hold Skills Camp Saturday
October 02 | Baseball
No matter what the weather may bring Saturday, the University of
Akron baseball team will host its Fall Elite Skills Camp as
scheduled, the coaching staff announced Friday.
The camp, which provides a great opportunity for athletes to
showcase their skills under the instruction and guidance of the UA
coaching staff and players, is scheduled to be held at Lee Jackson
Field - the home field of the Zips, but may be moved indoors to the
Stile Athletics Field House, if necessary.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own personal bat,
fielding glove and helmet. Registration will begin at 12:15 p.m. at
Lee Jackson Field.
The camp, which is open to boys in the ninth grade all the way
through their senior year in high school, will focus on the
following concentrations: pitching, catching, hitting, infield and
outfield skills; and will be broken down into two sessions. Session
I will be held from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. and will focus on infielder and
outfielder instruction. Session II will run from 3:30 p.m. - 5:30
p.m. and will focus on pitcher and catcher instruction.
