Dambrot Weekly Press Conference Quotes
February 12 | Men's Basketball
Below is the transcript of head coach Keith Dambrot's discussion with the media
on today's Mid-American Conference teleconference. Dambrot will be
on the call each Monday throughout the league season.
Opening Statement:
"Winning the game at Ball State was huge for us, playing without (Jeremiah) Wood for the first time was a little tough, we changed some roles around and we had a lot of confidence in each other. Realizing that life has to go on when battling through injuries helped with the team's belief in the program."
On the status of Jeremiah Wood and Cedrick Middleton:
"The surgery went well, he is rehabbing his knee as we speak. Our guys are positive we are going to get him back. We all feel badly for him, with his prior knee surgery that he recovered from and a tough road he has battled. I also feel badly for Cedrick Middleton because he hasn't been able to play nearly as much as he should be playing, with his season being hindered by knee problems as well, needing surgery at the end of the season. Being seniors, they have made our program what it is, I feel bad for them. On February 9th we had to change our style of play because we couldn't throw the ball to Wood down low anymore."
On Brett McKnight and others picking up Jeremiah Wood's minutes:
"At this point, he has hit the wall, his older brother, though, is playing really well, in the last three games putting up nearly 40 points is huge. Chris McKnight, Brett McKnight, (Quade) Milum, (Jimmy) Conyers and (Mike) Bardo are going to need topick it up a little bit, doing it in different ways, because all of these guys bring a little different part of the game to the court."
