Ossie's Insights: NCAA Weblog #12
November 19 | Men's Soccer
University of Akron senior Ossie
Michalsen checks in with his 12th installment of Ossie's
Insights on NCAA.com following the Zips soccer team's championship
weekend.
After winning his fourth Mid-American Conference Tourmament
championship in five seasons, Michalsen recaps all the action while
discussing what's ahead for UA in his latest weblog entry.
Here is an excerpt:
"At this point it is time to go dancing in the NCAA tournament,
and we could not be more excited. With a 5th seed we were rewarded
for a very successful regular season, as this is the highest seed
in program history.
The scheduled matchup against either Ohio State or Oakland leaves
us with optimism as we have been successful against both teams.
However, both teams offer great challenges, and we know we have to
play to our very best potential to advance to further rounds.
The most exciting part is, independent of seeding and who we play,
that we will return to Lee Jackson Field and play in front of our
great fans."

Akron (16-1-4), the fifth seed in the NCAA Tournament, will host
the winner of Saturday's Oakland (14-4-1) vs. Ohio State (9-8-2)
match-up next in second-round action Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at Lee
Jackson Field.
