Harutyunyan Falls In ITA Round of 16

EAST LANSING, Mich. University of Akron freshman tennis athlete Zara Harutyunyan was eliminated from the Wilson/Intercollegiate Tennis Association Midwest Regional singles main draw round of 16 on Sunday, falling to Northwestern freshman Elena Chernyakova3-6, 7-6 (6), 6-2.
The loss brings the most successful run in the ITA regional by a Zips athlete to a close. She was also the first UA player to pre-qualify to compete in the regional main draw.
The Akron tennis team next competes at the Dartmouth
Invitational on Nov. 7-9 in Hanover, N.H. That event will conclude
the squad's fall schedule.
