Men's Hoops Readies For MAC Tourney

– After winning the Mid-American Conference East Division
with a thrilling 66-64 overtime victory against Kent State on
Sunday, the University of Akron men's basketball team will begin
its quest for a MAC Championship and NCAA Tournament berth on
Thursday, March 8, 7 p.m. EST at Quicken Loans Arena.
The Zips (24-6, 13-3 MAC) enter the MAC Tournament as the No. 2
seed and will battle the winner of the Buffalo vs. Central Michigan
game that will take place on Wednesday.
Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets through the UA Athletics
Ticket Office at 1-888-99-AKRON. The University of Akron Athletics
Department is also offering a pre-game reception inside Quicken
Loans Arena for all fans and supporters of Zips athletics. For
information on how to register for the pre-game festivities please
contact Blair Danner, Athletics Development Assistant, at

There are also a limited number of $10 student tickets available.
They can be purchased at the athletics ticket office starting on
Tuesday morning as well as at the student union from 10:30 a.m.
– 1 p.m. on Tuesday.
