#17 Zips End Regular Season at WMU

AKRON The 17th-ranked University of Akron men's soccer
team will conclude the regular-season this Saturday at Western
Michigan. Start time is set for 2 pm in Kalamazoo with a Zips win
or tie will secure UA a top seed and allow UA to host the 2007
Mid-American Conference Championship (Nov. 16 & 18).
The Zips (12-3-2; 3-0-1 MAC) and Broncos (7-9-1, 0-3-1 MAC) have
met on 26 previous occasions with Akron owning a 23-2-1 advantage
in the series and out-scoring WMU 83-12 in the series.
Akron enters the match with an NCAA-best 10 shutouts, while ranking
13th in the NCAA in goals against average with 0.6 goals allowed
per match. Also, freshman Anthony Ampaipitakwong ranks 16th in the
NCAA in assists with 0.5 per match.
Akron is led by Matt Tutich and Elliot
Bradbrook, each with five goals, while Pablo
Moreira and Steve Zakuani each have four. Western Michigan's
Tim Brown and C.J. Utley each have five goals to lead the
Broncos.
