Bush Named to PDL Team of the Week

With a dominating performance in the net that helped the Chicago Fire Premier lock up the Great Lakes Division title and a spot in the playoffs, Akron sophomore-to-be Evan Bush was named to the Premier Development League's Team of the Week on July 13.

In the Fire Premier's 2-0 win over the Michigan Bucks on July 8, Bush tallied six saves, stopping three early scoring chances which included two breakaways. On the season, Bush is 9-1 in the net for the Fire Premier with five shutouts and a 0.90 goals-against average.

Bush and the Zips report back to campus on Aug. 6 to begin preseason training, which includes the 2006 Westfield Insurance Cup, Aug. 17-20 at Lee Jackson Field. Akron opens exhibition action against Creighton on Aug. 18 at 8 p.m.
