Former Akron players Justin Sadler (2005) and Michael Apple (1995-98) are getting it done on the professional level as both were named to the United Soccer Leagues Second Division Team of the Week on June 5.

Sadler made his first pro start for the Harrisburg City Islanders on Saturday at left back and helped spearhead a defensive effort that resulted in Harrisburg's second-straight shutout. The former Cumberland Valley High School and Akron star also factored into the attack on more than one occasion, including a 64th-minute run out of the back that resulted in a shot just wide from the top of the box.

Sadler has logged 121 minutes in two appearances for the City Islanders.

Also earning a spot on the Team of the Week was former Akron All-American Michael Apple (1995-98). Apple scored a goal in the Pittsburgh Riverhounds' 1-1 draw against Richmond on June 2.
