Tennis Drops 6-1 Decision At Cleveland State

CLEVELAND - The University of Akron women's tennis team lost to Cleveland State 6-1 Thursday at River Oaks Racquet Club.
The Vikings claimed the doubles point by winning two of three matches. The Zips' freshmen pair of Tanya Gombera and Alyssa Carlson posted a 9-8 (11) victory over Kristin Chamberlain and Lindsay Seller at the No. 2 spot.
Akron's lone point came courtesy of sophomore Laura Hemlepp at the No. 5 singles position. Hemlepp bested Chamberlain 6-4, 7-5.
Akron returns to the court Saturday when it travels to St. Bonaventure. First serve is set for 3:30 p.m. EST.
