AKRON, Ohio (AP) - Romeo Travis scored 15 points and Cedrick Middleton scored all 12 of his points in the first half to lead Akron to a 75-61 victory over Buffalo on Wednesday night.
Nick Dials and Dru Joyce each had 13 points for the Zips (16-4, 9-1 Mid-American Conference), who have won their last three games.
Buffalo (15-6, 5-5), leading the conference in free-throw shooting at 74 percent, hit just 14-of-21. The Zips were 21-of-28.
Yassin Idbihi had 16 points, Calvin Cage 14 and Mario Jordan 11 for the Bulls.
Akron rolled to a 40-27 first-half lead and led by as many as 23 points in the second half.
The Bulls led 16-14 on Christian Schmidt's layup midway through
the first 20 minutes before Middleton hit two free throws to tie
the game. Joyce and Dials then hit back-to-back 3-pointers to push
the lead to 22-16.
