Men's Golf In The Hunt At The McLaughlin

PLAINVIEW, N.Y. - The University of Akron men's golf team, on the same day they appeared in the latest GCAA/Bridgestone Coaches Top-25 poll, backed up the votes by carding a 1-under 559 to enter the clubhouse in second place after two rounds of The McLaughlin on Friday.
Withrop held the first-day lead, carding a 5-under 555 to pace the field. Tournament-host St. John's sits in third place at 1-over 561.
Winthrop, Akron and St. John's will take to the course this
morning paired in the final group.
