Basketball Open House Set for Oct. 20

AKRON, Ohio – The University of Akron men's and women's basketball programs will kick off the 2012-13 season with a Basketball Open House on Saturday, Oct. 20, at James A. Rhodes Arena.
The free event will begin at 4 p.m. ET and will lead up to the Akron volleyball team's Mid-American Conference match against Central Michigan at 5 p.m. ET.
Set to take place in the JAR mezzanine, fans will have the chance to meet, as well as get autographs and take pictures, with the student-athletes and coaches from both squads. Fans can also enjoy free Papa John's pizza.
Fans will also have the opportunity to check out seats still available for purchase for the upcoming season, as well as the opportunity to upgrade their seat location or add addition seats.
The Basketball Open House is open to the public and is free of charge. However, donations will be accepted at the door to support Breast Cancer Research as part of the Zips volleyball team's Dig for a Cure event.
