As a Junior (2013): Appeared in all 12 games for the Zips ... finished the season with 10 tackles, one interception, and one pass breakup ... recorded his first-career interception against Kent State, with the pick coming late in the fourth quarter to seal the victory for Akron ... posted four two-tackle games.
As a Sophomore (2012): Played in eight games with one start ... joined the starting lineup against Bowling Green ... finished the season with two tackles (one solo).
As a Freshman (2011): Did not see game action.
Prep: Attended College of the Desert junior college in California.
High School: A three-year starter and all-state performer on the football team at Copley HS ... also competed in track and field ... went 22-00.50 in the long jump at the 2010 state meet.
Personal: Parents are Ray and Tina Durant ... has four siblings ... a two-time MAC champion in the high jump for the UA track and field team (2013 indoor, 2013 outdoor).
