CLEVELAND, Ohio - University of Akron junior Megan Hipple (Warren, Ohio) was recognized by the Mid-American Conference as its women's Track Athlete of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday (Feb. 3).

Hipple ran a school-record time of 15:53.23 to win the women's 5,000 meters at the Meyo Invitational on Friday (Jan. 30). Her performance is the top-rated time in the MAC this season and ranks 44th in the NCAA on the campaign.

Akron returns to competition at the Windy City Invitational this Friday and Saturday (Feb. 6-7).Â
