CLEVELAND, Ohio – University of Akron senior Cassidy Allen (Lakewood, N.Y) and redshirt senior Hunter Garretson (Newcomerstown, Ohio) were honored by the Mid-American Conference as its Track and Field Athletes of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday (May 6).

Allen was selected as the MAC Women's Field Athlete of the Week, while Garretson garnered Men's Field Athlete of the Week accolades.

Allen cleared a career-best 13-8.50 (4.18m) to place second at the Jesse Owens Classic. Her effort stands as the top mark in the MAC and 57th in the NCAA.

Garretson claimed first place in the men's pole vault at the Jesse Owens Classic with a season-best clearance of 18-1.75 (5.53m). It's the top mark in the MAC and ranks No. 8 nationally.
