Akron's Kipchirchir Named MAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week

MID-AMERICAN CONFERENCE TRACK AND FIELD ATHLETES OF THE WEEK
CLEVELAND, Ohio – University of Akron freshman Bismack Kipchirchir (Eldama Ravine, Kenya) was recognized by the Mid-American Conference as its Men's Track Athlete of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday (April 1).
Kipchirchir ran a school-record time of 8:37.85 in the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Raleigh Relays on Thursday (March 27).
Kipchirchir's performance in the 3,000-meter steeplechase represents the fastest time by a MAC runner since TFRRS records began in 2013 and is just shy of the MAC record set in 2004.
