Garretson and Williamson Earn MAC Track and Field Athlete of the Week Honors

MID-AMERICAN CONFERENCE TRACK AND FIELD ATHLETES OF THE WEEK
CLEVELAND, Ohio – University of Akron redshirt junior Hunter Garretson (Newcomerstown, Ohio) and senior Jameel Williamson (Columbus, Ohio) were honored by the Mid-American Conference as its Men's Track and Field Athletes of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday (Feb. 21).
Garretson captured Men's Field Athlete of the Week accolades, while Williamson garnered Men's Track Athlete of the Week honors.
Garretson triumphed in the men's pole vault at the Al Campbell Invitational on Feb. 16 registering a career-best mark of 18-9.25 (5.72m), the No. 2 performance in the NCAA this season. He attempted to set the No. 1 mark in the NCAA this season at 5.82 but was unsuccessful in his three attempts.
Williamson captured the men's 400 meters at the Al Campbell Invitational on Feb. 16 crossing the line in a career-best time of 48.23.
