CLEVELAND, Ohio - University of Akron track and field junior Nuh Andu (Doha, Qatar) and freshman Fegor Clifford (Delta State, Nigeria) were honored by the Mid-American Conference as its Men's Field and Women's Track Athletes of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday, April 20.

Andu and Clifford were recognized by the league for the time this season. Overall, the Zips picked up weekly conference accolades for ninth and 10th times, respectively, in 2022. Â
Andu registered a season-best mark of 6-11 (2.11m) to garner a second-place finish in the men's high jump at the Beach Invitational in Long Beach, Calif., on Saturday, April 16. His effort stands as the No. 2 mark in the MAC season this season and No. 43 mark in the NCAA this spring.

Clifford set a school record in the women's 400-meter hurdles at the Beach Invitational on Saturday, April 16, crossing the line in a career-best time of 57.41. Her performance topped the school-record time of 57.61 set by Jackie Siefring six years ago to the day on April 16, 2016. Her effort stands as the top-rated mark in the MAC this season and the No. 14 performance in the NCAA this spring.

Akron returns to competition traveling to Bloomington, Ind. to compete at the Indiana Invitational on Friday and Saturday, April 22-23.
