What was the deciding factor that brought you to UA?
Location. Working in sports, you always hope that your able to earn a job that's close to home. I grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, and UA gave me that opportunity.
Â
How has your position changed over the years?
Not much since I've started in November 2018.
Â
What are your current responsibilities?
Currently, I manage the day-to-day operations of the JAR and oversee the rental of Shrank Turf Field. I also serve as the game manager for women's volleyball, men's soccer, men's and women's basketball, and softball.Â
Â
What have you learned during your time on campus?
During my time at UA, I have learned to be adaptable to change and to trust your staff.
Â
Do you have a favorite memory to share?
My favorite memory is from this past men's basketball season. Being able to witness our team cut down the nets after watching them over the last two seasons was very rewarding.
Â
What advice would you give to a college student who wants to pursue a career in collegiate athletics?
Try everything! This will help you find your passion and what area of sports you want to work in. Also, get involved as early as you can, gaining valuable experience in any way. Don't be afraid to hang out in your athletics department. Â
Â
What makes you most proud to be a Zip?
It starts with the facilities. Akron has the best facilities in the MAC. I am proud to be able to work with great people to help keep our facilities up to the UA standard.
Â
Anything you'd like to add:
I am very thankful to our Facilities staff for awarding me the opportunity to continue to do what I love so close to home.
