Bryan Places Third at European U23 Track Championships

BYDGOSZCZ, Poland - University of Akron freshman Lucy Bryan (Bristol, England) garnered a third-place finish in the women's pole vault at the European Athletics U23 Championships on Saturday, July 15.

Bryan registered a career-best jump of 14-5.50 (4.40m) to place third behind Maryna Kylypko (14-7.25/4.45m) of Ukraine and Angelica Moser (14-11/4.55m) of Switzerland.

Bryan cleared her opening bar of the competition surpassing 13-5.25 (4.10m) on her first run at the height before needing two attempts to eclipse 13-9.25 (4.20m), 14-1.25 (4.30), 14-3.25 (4.35m) and 14-5.50 (4.40m).
