Four Zips Set to Compete at USATF Junior Track and Field Championships

USATF JUNIOR TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIP MEET INFORMATION
AKRON, Ohio - Four University of Akron track and field standouts in freshmen Ian Behm (Volant, Pa.), Dara Perry (Akron, Ohio), Cody Stine (Shelby, Ohio) and Abigale Wilson (Carrollton, Ohio) are headed to Clovis, Calif., this weekend to compete at the United States of America Junior Track and Field Championships (USTAF) Friday, June 24, through Sunday, June 26.
Wilson opens competition at the USATF Junior Championships taking part in the women's discus at 10:15 p.m. ET on Friday, June 24, while Behm participates in the men's javelin final at 10:30 p.m. ET.
Wilson was named the Mid-American Conference's Women's Freshman of the Year after winning the discus title on May 14, registering the fifth-best throw 162-8 (49.58m) in program history.
Behm finished second in the javelin at the MAC Outdoor Championships recording a career-best throw of 211-2.50 (64.37m) on May 12. The mark also represented the fifth-best throw in program history.
Perry hits the track for the first round of the women's 100-meter hurdles at 7:55 p.m. ET on Saturday, June 25, with the final being contested later that evening at 11:20 p.m. ET.
Perry won the 100-meter hurdles title at the MAC Outdoor Championships in a school-record time of 13.53 on May 14.
Stine takes part in the men's high jump final at 8:45 p.m. ET on Sunday, June 26, to close out competition for the four Zips.
After finishing second in the men's high jump at the MAC Indoor Championships, Stine collected his first league title taking home the championship surpassing 6-11 (2.11m) on May 14. He later placed 13th in the men's high jump at the NCAA Championships on June 10, surpassing 6-10.25 (2.09m) to collect second-team All-America accolades.
