Round One Results
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Three Zips sit inside the top-25 as the Akron women's golf team finished day one of the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational in fifth place on Saturday.
Laura Murray, Frida Fougberg and Mallory Etcheberry led the way for the Zips as Akron posted a round of 28-over 316 on the day. Mid-American Conference foe Ball State leads the field by one stroke with a score of 304 (+16).
Murray fired a round of 5-over 77 and is tied for ninth place, four shots off the lead. Fougberg carded a score of 6-over 78 while Etcheberry ended the round with a 7-over 79 to finish tied for 13th and tied for 21st, respectively.
Sara Chaves is tied for 43rd place with one round to play after posting a round of 10-over 82. Whitney Graff rounded out the scoring-five in a tie for 53rd place (83, +11).
Sierra Everson, playing as an individual, is tied for 58th place after carding a round of 84 (+12).
Sunday's final round will be a shotgun start and is set to begin at 8:30 a.m.
