Sunday's Akron-Kent State Men's Hoops Still On

AKRON, Ohio Sunday's sold out University
of Akron versus Kent State men's basketball game at Rhodes Arena
will be played as scheduled. The final regular-season game for both
schools is scheduled to tip off at 6 p.m. EDT.
While no seats remain available for the contest, fans of the Zips
and Flashes will still be able to see the game on television, as it
will be carried on FSN Ohio and Comcast Local. It will also be the
sixth-straight meeting between the neighborhood rivals in which
either KSU and/or UA are in first place or are playing for first
place in the league's East Division.
Doors and the VIP reception in Tommy Evans Lounge will open at 4:30
p.m. for Sunday's game 30 minutes earlier than normal.
Additionally, the student entrance will open at 4 p.m. The first
1,000 fans in attendance will receive a complimentary "Beat Kent
State" sign sponsored by Scorchers.
Seats for the MAC tournament can be reserved, by calling
1-888-99-AKRON. Tickets for the tournament cost $30 ($10 for Akron
students with valid ID). Seats in the official Zips section will be
located either behind or across from the team bench, depending on
seeding. A limited number of seats are available in each school's
section, so fans are encouraged to reserve their spot early.
Patrons will only be charged for the games in which Akron
plays.
Also, the UA Athletics Department will hold a pre-game reception at
Quicken Loans Arena prior to each Zips' game. Each reception will
begin one hour before tip off and the cost to attend is $20 per
session or $50 to cover all three days. Fans can reserve their spot
at the reception when they order their tickets.
